Three Mobile has announced it is to sponsor Ireland’s biggest New Year’s Eve Festival, which will mark the official end of The Gathering.
The two-day event will be headlined by ska band Madness and other musical acts include Ryan Sheridan.
Now in its third year, the main highlight is the Countdown Concert on New Year’s Eve at College Green and Dame St in Dublin 2.
Last year’s event saw crowds of over 50,000 on the streets of Dublin and contributed to Dublin’s nomination as one of the Lonely Planet’s top five New Year’s Eve destinations in the world.
Continuing with the free theme, New Year’s Day will see many events including a Big Brunch, Family Day & Ceilí at Meeting House Square from 11am until 6pm.
The festival was established in 2011 to drive tourism to Dublin over the New Year’s period, establishing Dublin as a top destination for New Year’s Eve.
The Three NYE Dublin Festival is a Fáilte Ireland/Dublin City Council initiative, supported by The Gathering Ireland.
Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisin Quinn called on all visitors to visit the capital, where "College Green will definitely be the place to be when the clock strikes midnight on 31 December.”
