Tourism Ireland's Sales Blitz Gathers Pace In The US

Tourism Ireland's 'Jump into Ireland' sales mission in the US kicked off today (11 April), taking in the cities of Austin (Texas), Chicago (Illinois) and Boston (Massachusetts).

Over the coming days, Tourism Ireland – together with a delegation of 12 Irish tourism companies – will meet travel professionals based in the three cities. The busy schedule involves a 60-minute TV show format highlighting the island of Ireland, as well as networking sessions with travel and lifestyle journalists – providing a platform to showcase and sell Ireland to important travel decision-makers in each city.

This is the second stage of the 2017 series of 'Jump into Ireland' sales blitzes; in all, the programme will visit nine different cities in the US this year, targeting hundreds of travel agents and travel writers.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: "Tourism Ireland has prioritised North America for 2017, as a market which offers a strong return on investment, in terms of holiday visitors and expenditure. A number of factors are working in our favour, including more airline seats than ever before, from 20 gateway cities across North America to the island of Ireland, with numerous new flights and expanded services in the pipeline for this year."
