Varadkar Announces Closing Acts To The Gathering

Minister For Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, has announced that this year's NYE festival will be the last event of the Gathering.

The festival will last four days, from December 29 to December 31.

December 29: The Gathering at Leopardstown will see the home of Christmas racing celebrate with performances from Mary Black and Finbar Furey . A percentage of ticket prices will go towards the London Irish Centre and The Forgotten Irish.

December 30 : Love Dublin Day will celebrate the city's flair for music and literature with many free pop-up events across a number of well-known venues.

December 31 : New Year's Eve will be celebrated with a Procession of Light through Dublin city and an outdoor Countdown Concert on College Green with performances from Madness and Ryan Sheridan.

1st December: The Big Brunch: Anyone can come along to Meeting House Square, Temple Bar from 11am for a hearty brunch, live music, a Vintage Tea Dance, a group Céilí, children's entertainment, theatrical performances, food stalls and much more.

It is estimated that Ireland has welcomed around 250,000 additional visitors during the year thanks to 'The Gathering'.
