Ariel House In Ballsbridge Reveals New Look

The team at Ariel House in Ballsbridge recently hosted a champagne reception for friends, family and guests, to celebrate the recent refurbishment of the Victorian guest house.

The McKeown family took over at Ariel House 22 years ago, with current managing director Jennie McKeown overseeing the half-a-million-euro refurbishment of the 37-room property on Lansdowne Road earlier this year.

Original Features

The Victorian guesthouse saw a refurbishment that included 14 guest rooms and the entire ground floor, encompassing the reception area, drawing room and conservatory.

The owners said that they used a colour palette sympathetic with the style of the three Victorian townhouses that together make up Ariel House, including a cornflower blue reception area, a deep dove grey in the drawing room and conservatory, and a rich biscuit in the master bedroom, with original mahogany four-poster bed.

The designers also unearthed a number of original features, like the tiled fireplace in the breakfast room.

Ariel House is part of Ireland’s largest regional hotel group, the iNUA Collection.

General manager Keila De Souza, who joined the team this year from Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Cork, and the entire team at Ariel House say that they are delighted with the feedback from regular guests and new visitors alike.

‘Contemporary Reimagining’

“We feel that we have kept the essence of what Ariel House means to us and to our many loyal guests, who have visited us over the last 22 years,” said managing director McKeown.

“It’s a special property, and we are really happy with how the new colours and fabrics suit the feel of Ariel House so perfectly.

“The newly refurbished guest rooms are a contemporary reimagining of the Victorian period, and every aspect of the redesign has been a true labour of love, with rich fabrics and colour palettes, sophisticated antiques, and interesting artworks.”
