With the publication of two significant international hotel polls this month, the credentials of Co Laois' Ballyfin Demesne (www.ballyfin.com) as a world-class hotel are gaining greater ground.
Launched as a 15 bedroom hotel in May 2011, Ballyfin has been ranked in 12th position in Australia's ‘International Traveller’ magazine’s list of the '100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World’.
Meanwhile in the United States, Andrew Harper’s '2013 Readers’ Choice Top 20 Hideaways' places Ballyfin in 19th slot within the international category of its annual listing. In both instances, Ballyfin is the only Irish property to make an appearance.

The ‘100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World’, within International Traveller’s September/October Collector’s edition, was compiled by an elite judging panel of 17 travel experts, who have more than 230 years of travel writing experience.
Each of the panelists was asked to score a shortlist of approximately 700 hotels in order to determine the top 100.
This in turn led to Ballyfin being one of a handful highlighted on TV in Australia when the ‘100 Best Hotels and Resorts in the World’ were discussed during Channel 9’s Mornings Show.
