Cork's Dunmore House Hotel Named Irish National Wedding Venue Of The Year

Dunmore House Hotel, in Clonakilty Bay, West Cork has been named Irish National Wedding Venue of the Year at the inaugural Irish Wedding Awards 2017. The four-star hotel is a third-generation family business and is currently owned and run by husband and wife team Richard and Carol Barrett.

Irish wedding venues, businesses and service providers all gathered at a black tie event at the Crowne Plaza, Dublin, during which 21 winners were announced after hundreds of entries were received across a range of categories. 30 hotels were nominated for Wedding Venue of the Year over six regional categories: Borders, West, Midlands, Dublin, South East and South West. This final shortlist was determined by a public vote with the winner chosen by the Irish Wedding Awards judging panel.

Discussing its win, Dunmore House Hotel proprietor, Carol Barrett commented: “Words cannot express how thrilled and honoured we are to accept these amazing awards. We were delighted to have been nominated among these other gorgeous and deserving venues, so to take home not only the award for our region, but the coveted national title is a dream come true. Dunmore House Hotel has been in my family for three generations and it is on wedding days that the hotel really comes to life. For over five decades, we have had the pleasure of welcoming brides and grooms through our doors at Dunmore House Hotel. Last year alone we shared in the special day of over 100 loving couples. We look forward to many more years sharing in this special day with loving couples."
