Wi-Fi provider Bitbuzz has signed a deal with the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel on St Stephen's Green in Dublin, allowing its visitors access to the fastest Wi-Fi in Ireland.A 100Mb symmetric fibre connection will be installed to support the increasing demand from hotel guests The 140-bedroomed hotel will be the first in the country to offer this facility.
"This is a first for Ireland as the Fitzwilliam is the first hotel to offer its guests a high quality Wi-Fi solution with a 100Mb symmetric fibre connection. This fibre connection is 100pc dedicated to customers use, which is a significant jump in Wi-Fi speed, as normal hotel installations are approximately 10Mb to 20Mb. In recent months, we have seen a greater demand on hotels to provide higher-speed Wi-Fi." said Shane Deasy, managing director of Bitbuzz.
General manager of the Fitzwilliam Hotel Fergal O'Connell added: "As a five-star hotel in Dublin city centre we aim to be on top of trends and ahead of our competitors. This new partnership with Bitbuzz, and the exclusive Wi-Fi offering to our customers, will help us achieve this. We have seen a big increase in demand for a fast and reliable Wi-Fi service, thanks to the growth in use of smartphones, tablets and laptops amongst our guests. We look forward to meeting this increased demand through our new partnership with Bitbuzz."
