Fermanagh's five-star Lough Erne Resort has confirmed that it is currently undergoing a three-year multi-million pound investment that will result in further improvement and expansion.

According to Incentivetravel.co.uk, the 120-room hotel, which sits on a 600-acre peninsula, will see its family facilities enhanced, the refurbishment of guest rooms, further developments of its Nick Faldo-designed golf course as well as the addition of a leisure pool in the future.

The hotel, which employs over 200 people and will be celebrating its tenth birthday, has also confirmed a new management team of William Kirby as General Manager and Xavier Perche as Director of Food and Beverages, both formerly of Kilkenny's Mount Juliet Hotel.

Lough Erne Resort has long been known as one of the country's premium tourist destination for golf travellers since it has the only links golf course in Ireland that can be played in wet conditions throughout the year.

Regarding the investment to the hotel, which was purchased by the American TRU Hotels & Resorts group last year, Kirby said “One of our main priorities is to maintain and further develop the unrivaled high standards we are famous for. Guests are paramount and first class service levels for our visitors remain our focus.

"Our successes will raise the profile not only of Lough Erne Resort, but of the entire Fermanagh County, and we look forward to continued strong relationships with local patrons and businesses.”
