Profits Rise To €1.087m At Rochestown Park Hotel

New accounts filed with the Companies Office have revealed that pre-tax profits at Windsor Surprise Ltd, the firm that operates Cork's Rochestown Park Hotel, rose over fivefold from €217,430 to €1.087 million during the twelve months ending on December 31, 2016.

Furthermore, the firm's revenues rose 12% from €10 million to €11.34 million during the same period. Meanwhile, operating profits amounted to €1.75 million in 2016, with €663,453 in interest payments resulting in the pre-tax profits of €1.087 million.

Additionally, the number of people employed at the Rochestown Park Hotel rose from 199 to 210 in 2016, with staff costs increasing from €4 million to €4.5 million.

The company's gross profit rose from €7.96 million to €9.128 million, with €7.3 million in administration expenses resulting in the €1.75 million operating profit. Windsor Surprise's accumulated profits for 2016 amounted to €1.12 million, while its cash pile increased from €218,141 to €565,220.

The directors' report stated that the directors "are pleased with the trading performance for the year and intend to capitalise on positive sales growth to contribute to sustained profitability in the future".
