Revenue Up To €5.4m At Muckross Park Hotel

Income at the five-star Muckross Park Hotel in Killarney doubled during its first year in receivership, according to a report in today's Irish Examiner.

Revenue for the 2012 financial year topped €5.4 million, more than double the €2.77 million it recorded in 2011 - the last year in which Bill Cullen's company filled accounts for the hotel.

Cullen, the businessman and reality TV star, along with his partner Jackie Nevin, lost control of the Muckross Park Hotel in a court battle with ACC bank last year.

ACC installed Declan Taite of Farrell Grants Sparks RSM as receiver, because of debts owed totaling €9.2 million.

The hotel, which employs 109 people recorded revenues of €2.56 million from September 2013 to March of this year

This followed revenues of €2.8 million during the prior six months that covered the busy summer period in which the Gathering increased tourist numbers in the area.
