The Dawson, a boutique hotel and spa on Dawson Street in Dublin, is to be offered for sale early next year.
According to The Sunday Times, AIB have taken control of the hotel as a result of a consensual receivership and the bank is now planning on selling the hotel.
Businessman Louis Murray owns the premises which consists of a 61-bedroom hotel and spa and the Dawson brasserie and Sam's bar. The business is expected to trade as normal in receivership.
According to the paper, the hotel broke even in 2011, despite a 20 per cent fall in revenues.
The business is believed to be trading well since the economic recovery.
