The Titanic Quarter in Belfast looks sets for further development as three new hotels have been granted planning permission, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
The planning applications were made by Titanic Quarter Ltd. and it is understood that some major hotel operators will be involved in building the 244, 155, and 120-room sites. It will greatly increase the number of beds available near one of the city's biggest tourist attractions, Titanic Belfast.
The Titanic Quarter in Belfast currently has only one hotel and the planned expansion is “welcome news,” to Visit Belfast chief executive Gerry Lennon. “It is critical that we see further investment in the commercial accommodation sector to meet the growing demand for overnight stays and particular hotel rooms as well as achieve the city's ambition of doubling tourism revenue by 2020," added Lennon.
The project will expand on the £27 million 'boutique' hotel already approved for the area and will likely create hundreds of jobs.
