The Cork billionaire Dennis O'Brien has made an approach to buy the Four Seasons hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, according to reports.
The Sunday Times reported O'Brien's interest in the five-star establishment but The Four Seasons is not commenting on the matter at the moment.
The property, which is valued in excess of €50 million, is at present in the possession of the United Kingdom group London & Regional, which bought it for €15 million in the summer of 2011.
The Four Seasons group has decided that, on 31 December, it will terminate its contract to operate the hotel; this means that a purchaser could acquire the property without having to pen a management contract, which would be costly.
