The Cork pub, The Thirsty Scholar, has been put on the market.
Behan Irwin & Gosling are handling the sale of the pub which has a guide price of €325,000. According to the Irish Examiner, the estate agent has said that there's keen interest from bar and restaurant operators.
The pub is very well known in Cork and has a good location on Western Road/Lancaster Quay, near UCC, the Mercy Hospital and The River Lee Hotel. It is also close to Washington Street, cafes and other guesthouses.
The pub, which is not currently trading, has a ground floor of nearly 2,000 sq ft and two floors overhead, which are in a shell condition.
The estate agent said that there were several inquiries before the pub was put on the market, so they are expecting significant interest.
