Oktoberfest App A Success

This year's visitors at Germany's biggest fair – the infamous Oktoberfest – were presented with a chance to make the most of their party experience through recently-developed smartphone apps. The Oktoberfest's “official” application proved particularly popular, with the app downloaded 75,000 times during the first days of the two-week spectacle. The app included a barometer which showed users how many visitos were expected on a certain day and was even able to calculate a person’s blood alcohol content by setting off the user's height, weight and amount of alcohol consumed against each other. As an interesting – and for most users probably very useful – bonus, the app estimated the time it would take a person to sober up after drinking.
