Publican Declan Doyle has called time on the company behind the now closed Redz nightclub - which was based on Westmoreland Street in the Lafayette building in Dublin city. Gingersnap, a Doyle company, sublet the premises from Manchester United, which closed its ill-fated superstore there over ten years ago - with latest accounts at Gingersnap reportedly showing a €3.6m deficit. The Lafayette was formerly part of the Treasury Holdings portfolio. United signed up for a €507,000 a year lease until 2015, with Gingersnap sub0letting it for €340,000. The Lafayette bar, now situated in the same building, is ran by Doyle as well as the nearby Bowes and Doyles pub.
