Swords Wetherspoon Set for July Opening

Following the purchase of the property last year, UK pub chain JD Wetherspoon has penciled in a July opening for its first north Dublin-based establishment.

The Old Boro pub, located at the junction of Main Street Swords and Malahide Road in Dublin, was bought by JD Wetherspoon as part of its wider expansion plan to open several new pubs around the capital.

It's reported that it has plans to open its doors in Swords in late July, following the previous openings of the Three Tun Tavern in Blackrock and Forty Foot premises in Dun Laoghaire.

Those purchases were made for a reported €1.5 million each.

The new Swords pub is likely to be similar in style to the one in Blackrock.

In January, Wetherspoon stated it had no plans to alter their expansion plans in Ireland, despite disappointing sales over the Christmas period.
