Everyone Loves A Good Relais…

Sixty years after Relais & Châteaux was founded with a mission to delight travellers on their way across France, the association’s UK & Ireland delegation is holding a delicious gourmet relay travelling the length and breadth of the British Isles.
The black-tie launch took place at Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore (pictured) recently, in their Michelin starred House Restaurant, created by chef Martijn Kajuiter.
One by one, over the four months of summer, each of the 35 member properties will unveil its original 60th Anniversary Tasting Menu at a celebratory dinner, with the rest of the Irish events taking place this month (Park Hotel Kenmare tomorrow, Sheen Falls Lodge on Saturday, Marlfield House on May 22 and Ballyfin Demesne on May 24).
The tour will then cross the Irish sea to complete the UK leg, continuing in an almost Olympic-style torch carrying fashion until it ultimately reaches Philippe Gombert, the President of Relais et Châteaux at their annual congress in Paris in November later this year.
