Gerard Dunne has been appointed as Head Chef at Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.
The Kilkenny native joins the team from the Riverside Restaurant at Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel.
His professional experience also includes 13 years working on board the QE2 along with Mount Juliet and Michelin starred restaurants across Europe.

In 2012, he was named runner-up of the Best Chef in Leinster and in 2011 Gerard scooped the Best Hotel Restaurant in Leinster Award from the Restaurant Association of Ireland.
He achieved Rosette Awards from the AA during his years with the Riverside Restaurant at Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel.
Gerard also spent thirteen years at sea on board Cunard’s flagship Queen Elizabeth 2 along with launching its successor Queen Mary 2.
