Michelin-Starred Chef To Open Restaurant At Belfast City Quays

Jean-Christophe Novelli is to take the helm of Belfast Harbour's hotel restaurant at the new four-star AC Hotel by Marriott Belfast when the hotel is completed in the first quarter of 2018 .

It will be the Michelin-starred chefs first and only restaurant in Ireland and is to be called Jean-Christophe Novelli at City Quays.

The new £25 million Belfast hotel development will feature a 100-seat restaurant, as well as bar, lounge, meeting rooms, a fitness suite and almost 190 luxury bedrooms, while the restaurant will have a double height glazed facade with waterfront views across the river and will serve a brasserie menu.

Graeme Johnston, property director of Belfast Harbour, said: "Recognised across the UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond, Jean-Christophe Novelli is a true champion of high quality, and innovative menu combinations and his decision to choose City Quays, and Belfast, is a testament to the success of our development plans for this key waterfront city location, the strong demand for great hospitality and the vibrancy of our visitor economy.

"Strategically located, this exciting new restaurant is great news for the local economy and will provide a welcome addition to Belfast and Northern Ireland’s strong hospitality, leisure and tourism offer. It's a real coup for Belfast and I look forward to an outstanding first year when our hotel opens its doors in 2018."
