Mount Charles Plans New Restaurant Adjacent To Popular Belfast Bar

Northern Irish outsourcing agency Mount Charles has applied for planning permission to transform the ground floor of The Apartment bar of Belfast's Donegall Square West into a restaurant.

Sources revealed to The Belfast Telegraph that Mount Charles would operate on the ground floor of the premises with The Apartment continuing to operate separately on the first floor.

Speaking about the benefits of opening a new restaurant alongside The Apartment, chief executive of licensed trade organisation for Hospitality Ulster Colin Neill said, "Food has become an increasingly important part of the overall offer of the hospitality industry so people are looking at how to deliver that in a cost-effective way. In this case, a ground floor restaurant would attract people into The Apartment's offer as well."

He added, "You could have a more complex food offer or a bigger variety in one of them. Something like this is good news for both businesses and shows how the pub trade is being innovative and delivering better experiences for their customers."
