Subway To Create 40 New Outlets and 400 New Jobs In Ireland

Sandwich chain Subway is planning to invest €5 million in Ireland and opening 40 new storers in 2014.

The fast-food franchise already operates 117 outlets in the country, all of which are owned by local businesspeople on a franchise basis.

"Ireland is a great success story for the Subway brand as evidenced by our strong growth over the past few years. In the midst of the recession we have invested and grown our network and it is a great achievement to be opening the 1,700th store in the UK and Ireland in Douglas, Cork," said Development Agent for the Subway in Ireland Neil Black to the Irish Examiner.

This year the brand announced its 40,000th store opening globally.
