C&C Group Trading Helped By World Cup And Good Weather

Bulmers manufacturer the C&C Group has issued a new trading update covering the period from March 1 to July 5, revealing that trading has been positive across all of the company's key markets, helped by good weather and the World Cup.

In Ireland, good early summer weather has helped Bulmers return to moderate volume growth in the year-to-date, while consumer reaction has been broadly in line with company expectations in Scotland since the introduction of Minimum Unit Pricing on May 1.

Commenting on new developments at C&C, group CEO Stephen Glancey said, “As announced on May 24, Sir Brian Stewart will be stepping down after eight years as chairman from today’s (Thursday July 5) AGM. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the board to thank Sir Brian for his outstanding contribution to the board and the company through this period of significant change for the business.

“I also welcome our new chairman, Stewart Gilliland, who joined the board as a non-executive director in 2012 and has extensive industry and sector experience.”
