The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) has said that Irish whiskey was among the top five fastest growing spirits categories by revenue last year.

According to a statement published on distilledspirits.org, Irish whiskey joined premixed cocktails including spirits-based RTDs, tequila/mescal, cordials and single malt scotch on the list of the top five fastest growing spirits categories by revenue in 2021.

Premixed cocktails including spirits-based RTDs were up by 42.3% to $1.6 billion, tequila/mescal were up by 30.1% to $5.2 billion, Irish whiskey was up by 16.3% to $1.3 billion, cordials were by 15.2% to $2.9 billion and single malt scotch was up by 14.4% to $1 billion, according to the statement published on distilledspirits.org.
