The Dublin Liberties Launches Limited Edition Irish Whiskey

The Dublin Liberties have just launched a limited release Irish whiskey called Copper Alley. This is the second expression released in The Dublin Liberties range, following on from the successful launch of Oak Devil in 2015.

The single malt whiskey is double barrelled, which rests for 10 years in bourbon casks and is finished in 30 year-old Oloroso Sherry casks for six months. Only 31 sherry casks of this unique whiskey exist and it reflects the original methods of tradition whiskey making.

According to Master Distiller, Darryl McNally: ‘My inspiration for Copper Alley was going back to the original methods of Irish whiskey making. Having rested for 10 years in Bourbon cask, I felt it just needed something extra to really bring it to life. Working with our cask partners, I came across some 30 year old Sherry casks of exceptional quality which I knew would give the whiskey an edge.

The Irish Whiskey is produced in The Dublin Liberties Distillery, located in the heart of Dublin’s historic distilling district.

Sinead O’Frighil, Marketing Director of The Dublin Liberties Distillery added, “Irish Whiskey has experienced phenomenal growth over the past number of years, and this is a trend which is set to continue. We see great opportunity at the top end of the market, which is growing strongly. Premium Irish Whiskey is growing at 25% year on year and we are seeing great consumer interest in new and distinctive brands”.
