Java Republic Acquires The Island Beverage Company

Irish coffee company Java Republic has announced that it has acquired The Island Beverage Company, which is Java Republic's exclusive distributor in the south-west of Ireland.

The Island Beverage Company's existing management team and all of its employees will now join Java Republic and continue to work with customers in the south-west.

"A Fantastic Opportunity"

Java Republic managing director Grace O'Shaughnessy stated, "We are delighted to be acquiring The Island Beverage Company, our exclusive distributor in the south-west. We are committed to the coffee market in Ireland, and this represents a fantastic opportunity to further our all island approach and invest for growth.

"Despite the challenges presented by Covid-19, we believe the Irish market represents an exciting opportunity for us and for Cafento as our parent company.

"In acquiring The Island Beverage Company, we will strengthen our relationship with our customers in the south-west, ensuring we can continue to deliver the same excellent service and support. For our customers in the south-west and beyond, this is a clear statement of our commitment to them and a further demonstration of our all island approach to serving customers with a fantastic premium coffee experience."

"An Optimal Time To Join Forces"

Meanwhile, The Island Beverage Company managing director Kieran White commented, "We are delighted that The Island Beverage Company team will be joining Java Republic. We have been working in partnership for many years and [this] announcement will allow us to bring our local knowledge and sectoral expertise to Java Republic. Given the opportunities that joining Java Republic and Cafento presents, we believe now is an optimal time to join forces."
