New Whiskey Distillery Opens In Co. Tipperary

A new whiskey distillery called Tipperary Boutique Distillery has opened in Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

Funding

As reported by The Irish Times, Tipperary Boutique Distillery has been opened by Jennifer Nickerson and Liam Ahearn, who funded the new distillery with cash from the sales of spirits that they previously casked and finished, along with the aid of €750,000 in funding from the Tipperary Local Enterprise Office and the EU Leader programme.

Local enterprise offices support small start-up businesses that have the potential to generate employment in the Republic of Ireland, and the EU's Leader programme backs enterprises in the union's rural communities.

Company's First Whiskey

Tipperary Boutique Distillery's first whiskey is called Tipperary Single Cask Release.

Production Capability

Tipperary Boutique Distillery can produce nine casks per week at full capacity, and the company is currently considering producing other spirits.
