Waterford's Blackwater Distillery Secures €3m Contract To Supply Aldi

Waterford’s Blackwater Distillery will have its gins sold in Australia thanks to a new international contract with retailer Aldi.

The Waterford distiller has secured a new contract worth over €3 million to supply its premium gins to 1,500 Aldi stores across Australia, Ireland and the UK.

The announcement was made as Blackwater Distillery opened a new €1.5 million extension at its facility in Cappoquin, Co. Waterford, creating seven new jobs.

"Hugely Exciting"

Blackwater Distillery CEO Peter Mulryan stated, “Winning a contract to supply Aldi Australia is hugely exciting for our business. It will be our latest spirit on sale on the other side of the globe and means we are now stocked in nearly 1,500 Aldi outlets."

Commenting on the distillery's new extension, Mulryan added, "Our new €1.5 million extension will increase our capacity by 400% while also providing on-site bottling facilities for the first time and a visitor centre."
