Ballyfin Demesne was the big winner at the National Hospitality Awards 2013 on Monday afternoon, retaining the Best Overall Hotel award it won last year. Beating off stiff competition from Harvey's Point and The Europe, the Co. Laois hotel was once again cream of the crop. However it wasn't all bad news for The Europe, who won the Best Resort Hotel Award, ahead of Carton House and Castle Leslie. The other major winners at the awards, supported by Hospitality Ireland Magazine and held in Dublin's Four Season's Hotel, were Doheny and Nesbitt and Residence, who earned the Best Pub and Best Overall Restaurant awards respectively, while TJ Newmans in West Cork deservedly took the coveted Best Traditional Pub award. Fergus O’Halloran at The Twelve yet again earned the Best Wine List award, continuing a glittering few years for the hotel, which has won countless awards throughout the industry.
