Bord Bia Seeks To Expand Export Markets Through New Recruitment Drive

By Dave Simpson

Bord Bia has launched a new recruitment drive in an attempt to open new export markets for Ireland and lessen the country's dependence on Britain in the face of Brexit.

The food and horticulture agency intends to bring 29 new employees on board, with specialists being sought in the areas of meat, dairy, seafood, drinks, retail and sustainability. 17 of these roles will be based in Bord Bia's Dublin headquarters, while the rest will be spread between mainland Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.

Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy commented, "Through this strengthened global presence and enhanced skill-set, Bord Bia will continue to deliver valuable insights and identify opportunities to allow the Irish agri-food industry to meet our ambitious growth targets as set out by FoodWise 2025."
