DIT's School Of Culinary Arts Awarded Food Safety Assurance Certification

The Food Safety Professionals Association (FSPA), which was established at the behest of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland in 2007, have awarded DIT's School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology with a special food safety award at its recent tenth anniversary celebrations.

FSPA's Food Safety Assurance Award certification signifies that standards are in place to safeguard public health and its objective is to audit premises for food safety and hygiene compliance against the Irish standard.

Mary Daly, chairperson of the FSPA congratulated DIT, saying that the award is the culmination of hard work and adherence to stringent entry criteria, which is a pre-requisite to receiving an FSPA award and certification from the FSPA.

Dr Frank Cullen, head of school, thanked the FSPA for recognising the School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology and its commitment to food safety and quality.
