Fitzers Catering last year recorded a pre-tax loss of €633,537, according to accounts filed earlier this week.
The contract catering firm, which employs 1215 staff, posted the loss in 2014 after generating pre-tax profit of over €1 million the previous year, the Irish Examiner reports.
Last year, Fitzers saw its gross profit slump from €10.3m to €4.76m, while staff costs fell from €4.9m to €3.19m due to the drop in business at the company.
Company directors said that trading in the business is affected by economic conditions where the company’s turnover is generated.
Fitzers Catering clients include catering for Dublin’s Convention Centre and the Titanic Belfast.
