Flipdish Announces That It Is Creating 200 New Jobs

Irish digital food ordering solution Flipdish has announced that it is creating 200 new jobs.

Flipdish is aiming to fill the planned 200 new roles by December of 2021, and is hiring for 50 of these roles immediately.

The planned creation of 200 new jobs follows the creation of 100 new jobs by Flipdish in 2020 as part of rapid expansion that has been experienced by the firm during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new jobs are mainly technology roles such as software engineers, engineering managers, software architects, data scientists, mobile engineers and product designers. Other roles being created include customer success, customer support, marketing and sales roles.

"Very Welcome News"

Welcoming Flipdish's announcement, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar stated, "This is very welcome news and another great example of an Irish company adapting quickly to the changes brought about by COVID. More and more of us are ordering online from our favourite takeaways and restaurants. It's great that there is an Irish company behind it all. Flipdish has seen significant growth in 2020, enabling thousands of businesses in the hard-hit hospitality sector to pivot to online ordering systems. I wish them the very best of luck with this latest expansion, which will see 300 new jobs over the next two years."

"Expansion Was Always On The Cards"

Meanwhile, Flipdish co-founder and CEO Conor McMcCarthy commented, "Expansion was always on the cards for Flipdish in 2020, but we could never have imagined pre-COVID how rapidly we would need to grow this year to play a crucial role in alleviating the crisis the hospitality industry faced. During the pandemic, Flipdish enabled thousands of food businesses in Ireland and across the globe to pivot from dine-in to delivery and takeaway, sometimes in under 48 hours, and we were proud to partner with them and help them stay open and operating.

"Hiring 200 roles next year looks different than it has in the past for us. We are reimagining what the workspace looks like for Flipdish in 2021. We know that the in-person office job is over, but our focus is now on finding the best talent regardless."

Flipdish is headquartered in Dublin and operates in 15 countries including the UK, the US, France and Germany.
