Deirdre McGlone, hotelier at the five-star Harvey's Point (pictured) located on the shores Lake Eske, believes Donegal should be in the shakeup to be Ireland's top food destination.
McGlone says the county is worthy of the respected Foodie Destination Award, reports donegalnow.com.
She believes that Donegal has plenty to offer in terms of artisan producers, restaurants and hotels, and if all worked together then the county could be in with a chance of wining the prestigious award.

The top 10 this year includes the Boyne Valley, Cong in Co Mayo, Derry, Monaghan, Sligo, Kilkenny, Dublin Coastal Village (Skerries, Howth and Malahide), Loop Head Peninsula and The Burren.
The Foodie Destinations competition, previously known as Foodie Towns, is looking for Ireland's leading ‘food destination 2016’, with the aim of celebrating Ireland's unique and wonderful food offerings and to encourage local food tourism initiatives.
