Italy's Autogrill Reports 78% Growth In H1 2022 Revenues

Italian airport and motorway caterer Autogrill, which has agreed a takeover by Swiss Dufry, has reported on a 78% growth in like-for-like sales to €1.8 billion in the first half of 2022 as passengers resumed travelling especially in North America.

The group, controlled by the Benetton family, also nudged up its guidance on the back of the results, seeing 2022 revenues reaching around €3.8 billion compared with a previous figure of €3.7 billion.

Dufry Acquisition

In July, Dufry agreed to buy Autogrill, creating a travel industry giant to take advantage of growth opportunities as the sector rebounds.

Italy's Benetton family will transfer its entire 50.3% stake to Dufry, which will offer to buy out minority stakeholders, with the Benetton's holding company Edizione then becoming the combined group's biggest shareholder with a stake of 20-25%.
