Meal Kit Company HelloFresh Predicts Pumpkin Carving Trends For Halloween 2021

Meal kit company HelloFresh has predicted pumpkin carving trends for Halloween 2021.

Details

HelloFresh stated, "Spooky season is upon us, and Halloween looks set to be inspired by some not-so traditional sources this year!

"HelloFresh is celebrating the most haunted night of the year by researching viral TikToks and trending Netflix series to predict what we’ll be carving into our pumpkins this year, and the meal box delivery company has revealed its top 3 designs.

"The first trend to look out for pays homage to the upcoming third season of the gripping Netflix drama, You. Searches for 'you season 3 release date' are up by 600% according to trends data, and fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the show looks set to hit the ever-popular streaming platform on 15th October.

"The star of the show, Penn Badgeley (Joe Goldberg), is best known for his illusive behaviour, and his trademark baseball cap is an indicator that he is orchestrating another romantically motivated, yet chilling plot.

"Next up, TikTok's latest scandal is transformed into a pumpkin-friendly design, as HelloFresh predict #CouchGuy to be a key carving trend. The original video uploaded by Lauren Zarras shows the creator as she visits her boyfriend, unannounced, at his college room.

"He stands to greet her, leaving 3 giggling girls unsure on how to react to the situation, on the couch he was sat on. Viewers took to the comments section in a frenzy, questioning if #CouchGuy was caught out or if the clip is just an innocent accident.

"Looking back to Netflix, the final predicted trend is focused on the show of the moment, Squid Game. The Korean production has developed an immense buzz, and enthralled audiences have prompted it to secure the number 1 spot on the platform, just 4 days after it was released.

"Players are plunged into suspense, participating in what appears to be children’s games - except there are some harrowing consequences for those who are eliminated from play.

"While the company is encouraging people to get creative with carving their pumpkins, it is also giving tips on how to get more out of the leftover flesh, as well as what to do with the pumpkin once Halloween is over.

"From exciting recipe suggestions, to ideas on composting that will be guaranteed to keep even curious little ones entertained, the possibilities for pumpkins are endless."

HelloFresh Culinary Expert And Senior Chef Statement

HelloFresh culinary expert and senior chef Mimi Morley stated, "Halloween has definitely evolved with the world of social media, so it's no surprise that TikTok will be impacting our pumpkin carving preferences this year! Gone are the days of repeating the same costume each year when the latest viral videos and series can give you a whole new scope on what/who to dress up as!

"We're all for keeping tradition alive too though, so we've paired our carving trends with some must-try hacks for using up leftover pumpkin flesh, this way we're reducing waste and enjoying new tastes at the same time!"
