Sam's Cookies Closes Down

Sam's Cookies of Bray, Co. Wicklow, has ceased trading.

Owned by Samantha and Keith Johnson, the bakery employed 43 people and won more than 40 awards for its products during the 23 years that it was in business, as reported by The Sunday Times.

Sam's Cookies supplied baked good to many Irish retailers, including Dunnes Stores, which featured Sam's Cookies products in its Simply Better range.

Possible Buyer

Despite the company's closure, Tom Murray of Friel Stafford, which was appointed liquidator of Sam's Cookies, said its assets could still be saved because a buyer had expressed interest.
