CATEX Returns In 2017 Bigger And Better Than Ever

Following on from the success of CATEX 2015, next year's renewal will once again be bursting with industry-specific attractions, that serve up inspirational solutions for Ireland’s foodservice and hospitality sectors.

Taking place on the 21-23 February 2017 at the RDS Simmonscourt, CATEX, supported by Bunzl and Calor, will host a number of events that are continuously evolving to ensure that they deliver the very latest in ideas and solutions for CATEX visitors.

Over the show's 50-year history, CATEX has become an established event on the calendar where all of those in foodservice and hospitality meet up over three days. The 2017 event is focused on delivering solutions for the industry, including addressing issues such as the skills shortages, sourcing and delivering Chefs’ masterclasses through the Euro-Toques Ireland stage.

From the Irish Cocktail Championships to the recently introduced Contract Caterers’ Culinary Challenge, each feature has been designed to further skills and learning, adding value and expertise to participants’ businesses.

Following on from the huge success of the 2016 World of Coffee Expo, which welcomed the World Barista Championships to Dublin for the first time, CATEX 2017 will again host the 2017 Irish Barista Championships.

Current Irish Barista Champion, Natalia Piotrowska, will be defending her title at next year’s show, where she’ll be pitted against some of the very best baristas from across the country, all vying for a chance to represent Ireland at next year’s World Barista Championships.

Organised by the Irish branch of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe, the Irish Barista Championships will sit alongside the Irish Latte Art Championship and the Irish Cup Tasters Championship, ensuring that coffee - reflecting its phenomenal rise over the last six years - is central to the skills events at CATEX.

Spanning over 15,000sq.m, almost 80% of floor space at CATEX is already sold out. The 2017 event will feature a new layout, and anticipation for the hospitality trade expo has led to a flurry of first-time exhibitors signing up to next year’s event. New names include Valeo Professional; ALI Spa; Flassey Food Distributors; Gecko Catering; ICE Industrial Cleaning Equipment; Vollrath Europe and UNOX, who will join CATEX’s long-list of stalwart exhibitors.
