Co. Down's Finnebrogue Woods has unveiled new developments.

Details

In a statement published on its website, Tourism NI said, "The fabulous Finnebrogue Woods have been transformed over recent years from a working farm to one of Northern Ireland's exciting destinations welcoming locals and visitors alike. Ed and Rachael Lindsay unveil the latest exciting new developments within Finnebrogue Woods to Tourism Northern Ireland's Head of Programmes, Lesley-Ann O'Donnell.

"Located in the heart of County Down, between Downpatrick and Killyleagh the magical 200-acre lakeside family farm has been transformed over recent years. Despite continuous growth, visitors and locals are always greeted with the welcoming charm Finnebrogue Woods is now renowned for. Often met fondly by Duck, Ed's faithful black lab!

"Ed Lindsay commented, 'Thanks to funding from Tourism Northern Ireland the visitor improvements start right at the entrance with a freshly laid tarmac driveway and improved carpark creating ample space for everyone. Our upgraded walking trails through the woods and alongside the lake have been extended and improved making them enjoyable & accessible all year round.

'For those looking to try something new and embrace the wild outdoors we have created a truly unique Wild Cooking space including a tipi and fully functional outdoor kitchen led by our very own Wild Chef, 'Dan the Viking'. Chef Dan is keen to share his culinary knowledge and works alongside our expert Bushman Rob in creating & enhancing delicious dishes with seasonal foraged flavours fresh from the Woods.'
