Cork And Waterford Showcased To French Travel Agents

Eight travel agents from France visited Ireland last weekend as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The group was here to sample the experiences on offer in counties Cork and Waterford. The visit was also an opportunity to highlight ease of access from France to Cork, with the travel agents flying to Cork Airport from Paris with Aer Lingus. Next weekend sees the launch of a new daily Air France flight from Paris to Cork for summer 2018, which is expected provide another boost for tourism from the French market to Cork and southern Ireland.

The travel agents’ itinerary included a walking tour of Clonakilty and visits to the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, the English Market, the Jameson Experience Midleton and the Waterford Museum of Treasures.

Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of French travel agents to visit Ireland. We believe it is extremely important for travel decision-makers such as these to experience for themselves the high standard of our tourism offering,” said Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Southern Europe. “Our aim is to enthuse the travel agents about the destination, so that when they return home it will be easier for them to advise their clients when planning and booking holidays in Ireland.”
