Dublin Aerospace founder Conor McCarthy has emerged as a contender to acquire the contract to operate the Aer Lingus Regional service, The Irish Independent has learned.

The news follows last month's news that Aer Lingus is seeking tenders to operate its regional service following the expiration of the current contract at the end of 2022.

The current contract to operate the Aer Lingus Regional service is held by Dublin-based Stobart Air, the parent company of which, Stobart Group, is currently in talks to sell Stobart Air.

Evaluating Applications

Aer Lingus is currently evaluating applications from parties that are interested in acquiring its regional service.
