Fáilte Ireland Awards Certificates To Regional Tourism Management Programme Participants

Tourism, heritage and rural recreation officers from across the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands region received certificates for completing Fáilte Ireland’s Regional Tourism Management Programme this week.

The programme, which kicked off in November of 2018, aimed to ensure that Fáilte Ireland and local authorities can work side by side to build the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands regional experience brand and attract visitors to the region.

The programme was facilitated by Fáilte Ireland specialists, international consultants and other experienced and recognised tourism industry leaders.

"Delighted"

Mark McGovern, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands manager at Fáilte Ireland, commented, "We were delighted to see so many local authority officers and rural recreation officers sign up for our Regional Tourism Management Programme. Local authorities are central to the delivery of county tourism strategies, and are a hugely important partner for us here in Fáilte Ireland in the development and promotion of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.

"Following the launch of the regional experience brand in April last year, our focus now is on working closely with key partners, industry and communities in the area to develop the top-class visitor experiences that will be key to the success of the initiative. The Regional Tourism Management Programme not only updated attendees on developments to date, but also looked at techniques for developing experiences that reflect the essence of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, working with tour operators and forecasting for capital projects."
