May Bank Holiday Weekend Festivals To Take Place In Counties Wexford And Waterford

May bank holiday weekend festivals have been announced for counties Wexford and Waterford.

Shine A Light Festival

From April 30 to May 2, the oldest original working lighthouse in the world will host a series of events and demonstrations during the "Great Lighthouses of Ireland" Annual Shine A Light Festival.

The festival is set to shine a light on all things maritime, and activities will get underway at Hook Lighthouse in Co.Wexford from noon on Saturday 30 April, and will run from 12 noon until 4pm daily.

Towers And Tales Festival

The announcement of the above festival followed the announcement that the first in-person Towers and Tales Festival since before the COVID-19 pandemic will take place at Lismore Castle in Co.Waterford on Saturday 30 April 2022.

Irish and international children's authors and illustrators will host readings, workshops and more for little readers throughout the day, and the festival will get underway at 10am on 30 April.

The Towers and Tales Festival is supported by The Arts Council, Waterford City & County Council and Visit Waterford. Further details and tickets for the 2022 festival are available at TowersAndTalesFestival.ie.
