Norwegian Air's Passenger Traffic Decreased 90% Year-On-Year In September

Norwegian Air has revealed that the number of people who flew with the airline decreased by 90% year-on-year in September to 319,370 due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the airline's capacity was down 93% and its load factor was down 37 percentage points to 52.8%.

Norwegian Air operated 99.2% of its scheduled flights in September.

"A Prolonged Crisis That Is Far From Over"

Norwegian Air CEO Jacob Schram stated, "In September, several European countries were classified as 'red' by the authorities. We have seen that as soon as the authorities impose new travel restrictions, demand is immediately impacted. We are continuously adapting our route network in line with changing demand, but the frequent changes in travel restrictions make forward planning difficult, both for us and our customers. Looking ahead, this continues to be a prolonged crisis that is far from over."
