Number Of People That Arrived Into Ireland In July Decreased By Nearly 2m Year-On-Year

According to new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the number of people that arrived to Ireland from overseas decreased by 1,998,600 year-on-year in July of 2020 to 227,300.

The number of people who arrived to Ireland from the US in July of this year decreased by 191,600 year-on-year to 8,100.

Meanwhile, 97,100 people arrived into Ireland from the UK in July of this year, 23,000 people arrived from Spain and 13,200 arrived from France.

The 227,300 overseas arrivals figure recorded for July follows the 57,100 figure recorded for June.

The number of people who arrived into Ireland during the January to July, 2020, period decreased by 70.5% year-on-year, as reported by The Irish Independent.

Departures

Additionally, a total of 275,400 people departed Ireland in July of 2020, with 82,800 people travelling to the UK, 38,500 people travelling to Spain, 23,800 travelling to Poland and 4,100 travelling to the US.

The 275,400 departures figure recorded for July follows the 73,900 figure recorded for June.
