Ryanair's latest traffic statistics for the month of January show that traffic has grown by 17 per cent to 8.77 million customers, up from 7.5 million compared to the same period in 2016.
The low-cost airline saw its load factor rise by 2 per cent for the month to 90 per cent and rolling annual traffic to January growing by 15 per cent to 118.3 million customers.
Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said: "Ryanair’s January traffic grew by 17 per cent to 8.77 million customers, while our load factor jumped 2 per cent points to 90 per cent, on the back of lower fares and the continuing success of our 'Always Getting Better' customer experience programme.
"Customers can look forward to even lower fares when they make advance bookings for summer 2017, so there’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair and we urge all customers who wish to book their summer 2017 holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website or mobile app, where they can avail of the lowest fares in Europe."
