Tourism Ireland Hosts Networking Event In Scotland

A delegation of tourism businesses from Ireland travelled to Glasgow last week to take part in a Tourism Ireland B2B workshop and networking event.

30 Irish tourism businesses met and did business with Scottish tour operators and travel agents as well as local travel and lifestyle journalists.

Additionally, a new Tourism Ireland destination brand for Northern Ireland called "Embrace A Giant Spirit" was unveiled at the event.

"A Really Good Opportunity"

Tourism Ireland's head of Great Britain, Julie Wakley, commented, "We were delighted to unveil the new destination brand for Northern Ireland, 'Embrace A Giant Spirit', to the influential travel trade in Scotland. We are confident that this new brand will give Northern Ireland real 'stand-out' on the international stage and will deliver a significant boost to the tourism economy over the coming years. Our message is that there's never been a better time to visit Northern Ireland.

"We're really pleased that so many of our tourism partners from Ireland, and particularly from the north-west, joined us in Glasgow last week, highlighting our tourism offering to the influential Scottish tour operators and travel agents in attendance. We've certainly seen the effects of the ongoing uncertainty around Brexit on travel to the island of Ireland, with holiday-makers booking later and reducing their holiday budgets, so our workshop was a really good opportunity to remind them why Ireland is the ideal choice for a short break or holiday in 2020."
