To coincide with the season six launch of Game of Thrones, Tourism Ireland has released its latest ad campaign to showcase Northern Ireland to millions of the shows fans worldwide.
This new advertising campaign consists of ten expertly carved doors which depict key moments and events from each episode this season. The doors, carved from trees blown down by Storm Gertrude, will also have the shows iconic symbols on them. Tourism Ireland will hang the doors in pubs and other venues across the country, giving fans of the show a trail to follow, further cementing the connection between Game of Thrones and Northern Ireland.
“TV and film are recognised as a strong influence on travelers everywhere and the stellar popularity of Game of Thrones is a fantastic opportunity for us to promote Northern Ireland to a huge audience of potential visitors. Our latest campaign is a fun and innovative way to bring the destination to the attention of Game of Thrones fans everywhere” says Niall Gibbons the CEO of Tourism Ireland.
Other aspects of the campaign will feature limited edition Game of Throne stamps, with more to be rolled out over the upcoming weeks. Tourism Ireland's previous campaigns have generated over five million clicks and shares reaching an audience of over 100 million, with the aim for this years campaign to improve on those numbers by releasing a mixture of short films and images on social media in 10 markets.
