15 golf and tourism operators from Northern Ireland are joining Tourism Ireland, Tourism NI and Fáilte Ireland for a golf promotion at a virtual version of the PGA Golf Merchandise Show this week.

The PGA Golf Merchandise Show is traditionally one of the biggest golf exhibitions in the US, attracting approximately 40,000 golf professionals and journalists.

This year, the event is taking place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourism Ireland, Tourism NI and Fáilte Ireland are hosting a Golf Ireland booth at the online event to promote Northern Ireland's golf tourism offering.

The event involves a programme of bespoke one-to-one appointments, with the Northern Ireland golf and tourism operators meeting influential US golf professionals and journalists.

"A Good Opportunity"

Tourism Ireland's head of North America, Alison Metcalfe, stated, "The format of virtual one-to-one appointments provides a good opportunity for our golf partners from Northern Ireland to connect with influential US golf professionals and journalists. Our message is that, when the time is right, we will have everything ready to welcome American golfers. We'll be assuring them that tourism companies and golf clubs in Northern Ireland and across the island of Ireland have been implementing all the required new health and safety measures, but will still be ready to deliver a fantastic golfing and vacation experience."
