Tourism NI Recommences Its Certification Service

Tourism NI has announced that it has recommenced its certification service.

COVID-19 Disruption

In a statement published on its website, Tourism NI said, "The law in Northern Ireland states that all tourist accommodation businesses must be certified by Tourism NI before they can trade.

"The COVID-19 pandemic meant that tourist accommodation businesses had to close for at least three months, and those who had planned to open a new business could not do so."

"Delighted"

Tourism NI's quality and standards manager, Samantha Corr, commented, "After a challenging few months across our industry, tourist accommodation businesses have tentatively reopened their doors. We are delighted to be able to recommence our work to get businesses opened up safely and legally. While it is a legal requirement for tourist accommodation businesses to be certified, for many this is the first step of a journey with Tourism NI and the long-term development of their business."
